The Admissions Advisor is an exciting position for an energetic, goal-oriented and results-driven individual who is passionate about education and helping students succeed. The Admission Advisor will be the voice of our organization and represent us with the highest ethics as he/she works with students to enroll and enable them for success through their journey. The Admission Advisor will work in a team environment and support colleagues and reinforce a high quality, end-to-end learner experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with potential students via phone and/or email
  • Advise students using a consultative method while building trust and rapport
  • Assist and guide students through the admission process to help determine if a program is the right fit
  • Achieve daily metrics, such as call volume and talk-time to pipeline management, as determined by the Director of Student Services
  • Manage and update student database tool to help track student progress through the admissions process
  • Track and monitor student movement through the application process and guide them to meet specific deadlines
  • Provide accurate forecasting date to the Director of Student Services
  • Maintain weekly communication with potential student to keep them engaged and aware of their responsibilities during the application process
  • Guide accepted students through the student orientation process
  • Handle student questions, needs and concern throughout their entire higher education experience from admission to program completion
  • Actively participate in weekly team meetings regarding student progress through the admissions process and student retention, and provide constructive feedback to management

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of consultative sales, customer service or recruiting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • A passion for higher education and desire to help students achieve their educational goals
  • Background in relationship-based services, including recruiting, financial services, or membership services
  • The ability to achieve goals, influence others and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively with multiple priorities
  • Ability to take feedback from manager through call coaching sessions then generate positive results

General Duties:
a. Teach courses as assigned. Be responsible for the classroom and online setup, which includes setting up computers, virtual labs, and instruction material, to include providing online access codes to students. In addition, prepare student evaluations to include performance and learning deficiencies. Conduct student counseling and recommend corrective action to ensure acceptable student performance.
b. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written, and be able to present state of the art training concepts and methodologies using Department of State delivery technology to students within the Department and other government agencies.
c. Must have experience as an instructor in adult-oriented, technical training environment and comprehensive knowledge of training methods and behavior sciences associated with adult education instruction.
d. Special Projects as required, to include but not limited to, attending special seminars and training, to gather information for exercise and curriculum development and presentations.
e. Must have ability to consult with customers, analyze requirements, and develop, revise, and/or adapt instruction materials to meet the functional needs of Department of State employees.
f. Update curriculums and courseware for courses as required to meet industry and DOS standards.
g. Design and participate in workshops, seminars, and review sessions both in person and online.
h. Be the lead instructor in the development and revision of industry standard training. This may involve, among other issues, choosing the most appropriate COTS course material.
i. Design online and classroom seminars and workshops to meet the needs of specialized users as needed.
j. Provide one-on-one tutoring and review sessions for students from time-to-time to augment classroom and online training.
k. During the performance of the contract, the contractor will be required to provide professional and technical experience and expertise as described above.

As part of a high performance team, the Content Developer manages in-house and out-of-house development of both print and digital products to clarify, strengthen, and enhance their quality. Uses management skills to successfully manage complex projects or a large slate of products to ensure timely delivery and cost effectiveness. Broadly stated, the position involves (1) maximizing the potential of the product in content, quality, packaging, and marketability, (2) managing outside development suppliers, (3) project scheduling and production-related duties, and (4) pre-contract activities.

This position focuses on learning, project management and professional development subject matter.

Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):

Maximizing Product Potential – Project Content and Packaging

  1. In conjunction with the product development team, participates in refining the product premise, defining the target market, and determining the scope and nature of development work.
  2. Conducts market research to identify key customers, develops and utilizes a variety of market research tools (including online surveys, live and online focus groups, and written reviews), analyzes, interprets, and effectively communicates results to the product development team.
  3. Assists authors in identifying teaching problems in the target course and in developing a viable and attractive product premise.
  4. Using financial principles, identifies potential areas for cost control, communicates information to authors and team, and keeps expenditures within budget.
  5. Recommends changes in organization of material to enhance clarity and focus.
  6. Through detailed evaluation of content in a variety of media (including print, video, software, and Internet), and in close cooperation with authors, strives to achieve content that is correct, clear, complete, current, legal and consistent.
  7. Recommends innovative and effective pedagogical features and content based on market research and feedback.
  8. Analyzes competing products. Interprets and communicates market information to the product development team.
  9. Assists software and Internet developers in designing user interface and logical program flow.
  10. Recommends design of internal layouts, photographs, and packaging of project and other media.

  2. Hires and manages freelance content authors and other professionals as dictated by project needs.
  3. Provides information to developmental suppliers regarding schedules, standards, and procedures.
  4. Monitors and evaluates performance of existing suppliers on an ongoing basis.
  5. Communicates the requirements of each project. Instructs suppliers on handling non-routine aspects of projects. Troubleshoots. Devises strategies to maintain schedules.
  6. Reviews invoices submitted by development suppliers. Verifies that work invoices have been done and that the work invoiced is in compliance with the bid. Negotiates changes in invoices.

Project Scheduling and Production-Related Duties

  1. Participates in planning innovative publishing paths to facilitate fast cycle time and cost effectiveness.
  2. Develops detailed content submission schedules for primary product and ancillaries.
  3. Conducts author and media developer conferences.
  4. Coordinates authors’ and media developers’ responsibilities for preparation of content in a variety of media.
  5. Advises authors in content preparation to assure a smooth production process.
  6. Schedules market research related activities.

Pre-Contract Activities

  1. Assists the Product Manager in identifying and evaluating author and subject matter expert prospects.
  2. Recommends new products, ancillaries, and services.
  3. Participates in conducting formal market research.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Basic (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2 years print and digital product development and project management experience.
  • Tech savvy with a basic understanding of new media and technology.
